How can One You Surrey help me?
Our specialist stop smoking practitioners offer a scientifically proven method called combination therapy to help you quit smoking.
What’s that you ask? It’s where you’ll receive medicinal support (patches, gum, lozenges or medication) to help with the nicotine cravings in combination with behavioural support to help break the smoking habits you’ve picked up over the years.
Don’t take our word for it! Councillor Alison Griffiths quit smoking through our phone service and has kindly shared her experience for you to see!
How much money could I save using your service?
As you know, smoking is an expensive habit. Our service is free for Surrey residents to use! This means every penny usually spent on cigarettes is a penny saved!

We’ve put together a short video about how quitting could benefit you just 20 minutes (yes 20!) after your last cigarette.

Smoking & COVID-19
Our aim at One You Surrey is support any as many people in Surrey to go smokefree as possible. We don’t want to scaremonger any body into quitting smoking because that’s not what we’re about. However, sometimes the facts need to be stated.
Current research suggests that smokers are approximately 2.5 times as likely to need treatment in an ICU or to die from COVID-19. Smoking damages the lungs and weakens your immune system. This makes it more likely smokers will get complications and take longer to recover from an illness.
“It is abundantly clear from the research into previous coronaviruses that smoking makes the impact of a coronavirus worse.”
Matt Hancock, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care
Protect those who are around you.
To help combat COVID-19, we are having to isolate and spend more time in the home than before. It’s vitally important that protect those around us by not smoking inside. Secondhand smoke in the home and in other enclosed spaces also poses a risk. Children and those with existing health conditions are particularly at risk and smokers should take every effort to protect them from exposure.
Dr. Ruth Sharrock, Respiratory Consultant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead
In the video below, Dr. Sharrock highlights the risks of smoking during this time and in general.
